About Mauriel Morejon
He was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, on December 23, 1976. Since he was a child, he used to sketch and paint almost every day as his natural activity. By the age of 11, Mory entered the Elemental Art School Roland Scaldoft where, after a year of learning different techniques, Morejon created his visual world and way of expressing his own perceptions. By 1993, he entered the ENA National School of Art in San Alejandro, Havana, Cuba.
Over the next several years, Morejon continued painting and teaching art. At the time, his first artwork was displayed in the FBC, a Cuban international gallery; he sold more than 30 artworks in less than a year. By the age of 17, his paintings were declared National Patrimony.
In 1999, he arrived in Phoenix, Arizona, as a political refugee. After several years, he became one of the most renowned muralists in the state, admired by the public for his realistic artwork and love of his surroundings and new cultures. He named his own business Arizona Murals LLC in 2005. His speed painting changed most of the walls and backyards into panoramic landscapes.
With more than 3,000 murals, he set a record for the amount of artwork done around the Valley and other estates, including commissions for hospitals, casinos, restaurants, hotels, schools, parks, and government projects. Today, Mory has more than 5,000 followers. He earned a Guinness World Record in 2014 for his massive backyard 70ft walls completed in just 2 hours.
